F-R-I-E-N-D-S

F-R-I-E-N-D-S Written for the April 2022 "To love, and Be Loved" girls retreat. “ Friendship is one of God’s way of taking care of us here on earth.”  As humans, we are not meant to live alone in solitary. We can see this in the first book of the Bible, in both Genesis 1:26 and Genesis 2:18    Genesis 1:26 “And God said, Let us make man in  our  image, after  our  likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.”    Genesis 2:18 “And the LORD God said, [It is]  not good that the man should be alone ; I will make him an help meet for him.” Man was not created to be alone, so God created a companionship; a helpmeet. In my words, “Women are the other piece of the human puzzle.” Made meet; or accurately acceptable; to help. There will be people we come in conta...

Learning to Walk Again

I don't know why I stopped writing, I just did... A lot has happened  since my last blog post. Imagine everything  is going fine in your life, though there were some hills you had to climb you knew that you were on the right path and making good headway. Then the next time you look back, or look up; you  realize how far off the path you actually are. Now lost, alone, and  know so much time was wasted-you panic.  Scared there is no way to return, and you don't know how you got to this point...  Embarrassingly, that describes me. I headed out without a map, thinking I knew the way. Sadly, I became lost on my journey. School took all my focus, and then working multiple jobs drove me to do better financially; and set my priorities differently. Though I excelled in what I sat out to do, I didn't get the satisfaction I thought I would. It surprised me how I got to where I am currently. Now, looking back, I can see everything with a different unders...

What if your story isn't about you?

The above was written by a dear friend, who left this earth too early. Written by:DH 01/18/1996-03/10/2020 You never know how long you have with someone. May you cherish the time you have with those you hold close; take the time to ask them about where their soul will go if they would die unexpectedly. If not you, then who?

Just Move On

Someone told me "Sometimes the best thing you can do is move forward and create better memories with someone else, because some people come into your life for a reason, some for a season, and some for life. And every so often they will overlap into eachother-wait for that." I don't cry anymore thinking about the memories made, and not making more with you. Thank you for the laughter, the calmness, pushing me out of my comfort zone, and for accepting me as myself. You've helped me gain confidence in myself that I lacked, and learned that I can trust others. I hope you are doing fine and accomplishing what you set out to do. I'm still cheering you on; even in the shadows. We may not be close anymore, but I'll never forget how happy I was when I was around you. I just wish you could see what a positive impact you had made in my life." This is a letter I wrote to someone who I thought was a friend. Out of nowhere they cut me off- that hurt. I wonder if th...

The time I: became 7 again

Everyone takes something for granted and it's hard sometimes watching others throw theirs away when you'd wish they could experience it through your eyes, or ears in my case.  I'm talking about hearing. I recently was granted a new hearing aid through DVR. An update was needed for a hearing test, because it has been five years since my last one.  Thankfully my hearing hasn't dropped more than a few decimals. Some might  say that my hearing-loss is a terrible thing.  Yes, I do have my moments where I absolutely hate that I don't have better hearing, but most of the time I look at it as a learning and sharing experience. I have become more aware of my surroundings and can read people better because I focus on visual cues. God did not give me a hearing loss. However, He uses the girl who has trouble hearing; as a musician who plays by ear, as a photographer who sees and shows the small details of his creation, and the "different-according-to-the worlds-standa...
