Reflect and Reframe
As the year comes to a close, a lot of things have mentally come up that stopped me momentarily; in myself, those around me, and my environment.
There were a lot of ups and downs as I worked towards my goal of better improving myself and my surrounding, but there is so much more that needs to be done.
Though this is the end of one chapter, its the start of another. What are we going to do with the 365 opportunities coming up? Are you ready to make an impact.
You hear, but are you listening?
You exist, but are you living?
You look, but do you see?
You want something changed, start with yourself.
We all have problems, but there is only one way that they could ever truly be solved. That is to put your trust in the finished work on the cross, and allow the spirit to work in your life. I am so thankful that God is merciful! As a human, my flesh fails again and again- yours too. However, He uses his believers, flaws and all.
I've read the following before and it put into perspective of how God can use the "broken":
“Noah was a drunk
Abraham was too old
Isaac was a daydreamer
Jacob was a liar
Joseph was abused
Moses had a stuttering problem
Gideon was afraid
Rahab was a prostitute
David had an affair
Elijah was suicidal
Jonah ran from God
Naomi was a widow
Job went bankrupt
Peter denied Christ
The Disciples fell asleep while praying
Martha worried about everything
Zaccheus was too small
Paul was ta murderer
AND Lazarus was dead!”
If you don't know how God used these people, I challenge you to study and find out!
One amazing thing about God's word, is he gives us the answers of how we should handle our problems.
We SHOULD always turn to scripture to find out.
Though we will make mistakes, we can use each day to walk in the Spirit and live for the Lord.
You don't have to have it all together; because you aren't the message, you are just the messenger.
Colossians 3:17 And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.
Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.
Romans 8:5 For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.
Proverbs 4:23 Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.
Galatians 2:20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.
Galatians 5:22-26 [22]But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,[23]Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.[24]And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.[25]If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.[26]Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another.
Philippians 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things
